DESCRIPTION This trap is designed for catching crustaceans such as lobster, crawfish, and blue crab. It is handcrafted, with the entire process from cutting to assembly being manual. All parts are connected with stainless steel staples, an ideal material for this type of work due to its durability and resistance to seawater corrosion. The solid plastic mesh of this trap does not require an additional frame but needs corrugated iron bars on the lower sides to facilitate sinking, provide stability, and prevent movement on the seabed.

At the top of the trap, there is a round opening for the octopus to enter, designed with mesh points at the bottom to prevent the octopus from escaping. This opening also serves as the exit point for the captured specimens and is secured to the trap with stainless steel staples to prevent corrosion.

This part of the trap also includes the feeder tube, made with more rigid mesh to avoid deformation. The tube is designed to be filled with bait to attract the octopus, with a plastic lid (approved by the Spanish food registry) that automatically closes with a rubber band. This provides convenience during work, as it allows for quick and efficient baiting without wasting time with hook closures.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Minimal maintenance is required due to its high-quality plastic construction. However, with continuous use, it is recommended to clean it a couple of times during the season with fresh water to remove algae, shells, and other materials. If land storage is necessary, clean with fresh water, removing crustacean remnants and other elements from the mesh. They can be stacked, but it is advised not to exceed five heights and to nest them as accurately as possible to avoid deformation from the weight.

Finally, if stored outdoors, it is recommended to cover the traps with material that protects them from weather effects, as the product quality can be affected, especially by sunlight.
