DESCRIPTION This trap is designed for general fish fishing, with a rectangular shape and larger dimensions. It is handcrafted, from cutting to assembly, entirely manual. All parts are connected with stainless steel staples, an ideal material for this type of work, being durable and resistant to corrosion from seawater contact.
Due to its dimensions, the trap has a metal frame, with a pair of corrugated iron braces located at the ends and one more brace in the center to prevent deformation while in use, ensuring the trap maintains its shape and stability. Additionally, two corrugated iron bars are placed on the lower sides for easier sinking and stability on the seabed.
On one side of the trap, there is a conical entrance. At the top, there is a small hatch for easy removal of the catch, secured with a hook for quick and convenient operation. This section also houses the feeding tube, made with a more rigid mesh to prevent deformation. The tube is used to fill with bait to attract octopuses, featuring a plastic lid (approved by the Spanish food registry) that closes automatically with a rubber band for convenience during operations.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Minimal maintenance is required due to its high-quality plastic construction. However, with continuous use, it is recommended to clean it a couple of times during the season with fresh water to remove algae, shells, and other materials. If land storage is necessary, clean with fresh water, removing crustacean remnants and other adhered elements. They can be stacked, but it is advised not to exceed five heights and to nest them as much as possible to avoid deformation from the weight.
Finally, if stored outdoors, it is recommended to cover the traps with material that protects them from weather effects, as the product quality can be affected, especially by sunlight.
